Flaming mane whipped angrily around his long, crimson muzzle, the occasional violet ribbon dragging lazily across his face along with the yellow strands of hair. Orbs of shining emerald, with no distinguishable iris or pupil, save for the faint wisps of olive green steam that seemed to dance in the center, gazed about with only mild interst. Long, slendor limbs lay relaxed on the warm ground, the foot long ebony talons glinting dangerously in the bright sunlight as he frequently shifted. His tail, which was half the length of his snake-like body and fitted with a strip of yellow 'fur' on the top, fidgeted about, the gold tassel on the tip fluffed and as puffy as a handful of young chicken feathers. His snout was long and elegant, with his ivory fangs tucked neatly inside his mouth, and ridges of bone above the eyes so as to shield his delicate pools of jade from the pelting sunlight. A set of semi short wings was folded on his back, the thin sheet of skin between the scaled bones taking on a color of such dark green that it was nearly black.
As the time of his sun basking drew on, the dragon became agitated and unable to keep still. With a sigh of reluctance, the dragon drew to a stand, his wings stretching to their limits, which was a mere four feet. A surprised snort suddenly escaped his slitted nostrils as a large, blue winged butterful flittered around his maned head, merrily ignoring him. Powefulr jaws opened and then gently lifted to the flying creature, slamming shut once the butterfly had decidied to venture the darkness beyond the fangs. Angered at being disturbed, the Kingora clawed at the sand, but the ground's wound only healed itself every time. Jvin snorted again, but now in frustration, and lifted onto his hind legs, pawing expertly at the air, his wings still spread. After a moment of this, he gently, so gently that it was surprising for a creature of that size, pushed off with his hind feet and tail, his wings catching a light draft of air. Everything about his species was complicated and had flaw, but that was the way he liked it. Simplicity was not in his range of words.
The wind, at first, pushed against him, wanting so to push him back to the earth, but then the breezes stopped fighting and then allowed the dragon to fly with them. It was almost as if he were connected to the winds, knowing which way they wished to go at certain times, and letting them carry him without refusal. Though his connection with the air was not nearly as strong as an air dragon's would have been, it was oddly stable for a dragon who had flame within.
